Cars That Were Enhanced
So 2 cars recently came in to Wilson Detailing to get the Enhancement Detail (now renamed to the For Sale Detail). There was a 2015 Volkswagen Tiguan and a 2017(?) Citroen C4 Grand Picasso. Both cars were black and both were pretty bad in terms of paint condition. They only received a very light enhancement using a light polishing pad and finishing polish but this did end up in a lot of correction happening! Below I will list what each car received.
What Each Car Received:
- Thorough safe clean on all vehicle panels.
- Wheel barrels, faces, tyres and arches cleaned
- Dried using a safe exterior towel.
- Exhaust tips cleaned and polished.
- Light exterior machine polish
- High grade 12 month wax applied.
- Wax applied to wheels.
- Tyres Dressed.
- Faded black trim restored.
- Rain repellent applied to windows.
- Plastics, leather, vinyl and rubber cleaned.
- Seats, carpets and mats extracted and shampooed.
- Steering wheel cleaned.
VW Tiguan
The Volkswagen was quite a challenge, it was a low mileage car that spent some time in France. This took its toll on the paintwork which was swirled and was beginning to show signs of oxidation on the paint. This was relatively easy to work with though as I wasn’t aiming for any sort of correction but in the end it turned out really well as will be shown below. The leather seats cleaned up incredibly easily and well using Mirrored by Halton Leather Cleaner which cleaned it up really easily using safe brushes which wouldn’t wear the leather’s surface down. Citroën C4 Grand Picasso
This car was also relatively swirled and I will try to find the photos I took which demonstrate the difference between the before and after that I did…it was immense. The car was quite easy to work with, the paintwork wasn’t that bad and was quite soft so allowed for more correction than I first intended which is always a good thing. The interior was a different story…the carpets were terrible for vacuuming and just trapped dirt in them, it took 2-3 hours just on vacuuming alone, but luckily I did manage to get the car finished in a day…with the help of my mum!
